Nine Months (1995)

Plot: Samuel Faulkner panics when he learns that his girlfriend of five years, Rebecca Taylor, is pregnant. Samuel is a child psychiatrist who is frustrated by children. Samuel doesn't want the baby, but Rebecca wants to settle down, even if she has to be a single mother. After a breakup and a makeover by Samuel's friend Sean, he realizes that he loves Rebecca very much, and he will love his child. Samuel proposes to Rebecca, and learns to love his child, and life.

Alternative Plot: When successful child psychologist and one-time playboy Samuel Faulkner (Hugh Grant) hears that his girlfriend, Rebecca (Julianne Moore), is pregnant, he panics. As Faulkner's crippling fear of commitment sets in, Rebecca decides to leave him. Realizing he wants to spend his life with her, Faulkner struggles to come to terms with the gravity of impending fatherhood -- a struggle helped in no way by the antics of Rebecca's bumbling obstetrician, Eastern-Bloc refugee Dr. Kosevich (Robin Williams).
