Plot: Rumours abound about what may go on at a creepy mansion just out of town. The house is owned by Dr. Eric Vornoff who is conducting experiments to turn people into super-beings through the use of atomic power. Reporter Janet Lawton decides to look into what is going there and its possible connection to men that have disappeared in the area. When Vornoff takes her prisoner, he has definite plans for her.
Alternative Plot: Dr. Eric Vornoff is a scientist trying to use nuclear energy to transform people into superhuman beings. Despite his efforts, the abducted subjects he uses die during the experiment -- with the exception of his assistant, Lobo, who gains monstrous powers. Vornoff's mansion is protected by a murderous octopus, but somehow, reporter Janet Lawton makes her way inside and discovers the truth. She's taken prisoner, but the police are close behind.
