Plot: With his wife and daughter away for the weekend, straight-laced and uptight upper middle class Clarence Goobril wants to spend the weekend helping his best friend and cousin, pot-head Rell Williams, get over the debilitating emotional break-up with his girlfriend, Maisie, despite Clarence not sad about the break-up in and of itself. Rell, however, quickly finds a replacement in his heart for Maisie in the form of who he names Keanu, arguably the cutest kitten in the world that just happened to stumble onto his doorstep. Coming home from a night out with Clarence, Rell comes home to find not only his house ransacked, but Keanu stolen. Following up on a hunch and coming up with some information, Rell and Clarence go on a mission to find and retrieve Keanu. They quickly discover that getting Keanu back is not as easy as just finding him, as in the mission at hand they get caught up in a drug war as Keanu once belonged to now deceased drug kingpin, King Diaz. In the process, they know they have to act the bad-ass black dudes, despite especially Clarence being fundamentally white beyond the color of his skin, but they also have to decide how far they will go in terms of criminal activity to get Keanu back and potentially save their lives.
Alternative Plot: Recently dumped by his girlfriend, slacker Rell (Jordan Peele) finds some happiness when a cute kitten winds up on his doorstep. After a heartless thief steals the cat, Rell recruits his cousin Clarence (Keegan-Michael Key) to help him retrieve it. They soon learn that a thug named Cheddar (Method Man) has the animal, and he'll only give it back if the two men agree to work for him. Armed with guns and a gangster attitude, it doesn't take long for the hapless duo to land in big trouble.
