Plot: Chicago PD Detective Oscar Ortuso gives Jean Brooks the shocking news that her husband, Dr. Sam Brooks, was found dead behind the wheel of a vehicle down by the waterfront. The shocking aspect to Jean is not Sam's death, but that Sam was declared dead 5 years ago, after he was suspected to have drowned in a boating accident.
Alternative Plot: The beautiful Jean Brooks (Madchen Amick) believes that her husband, Sam (Martin Thibaudeau), committed suicide five years ago. However, when she's approached by private investigator Eddie Fate (Andrew Walker), she learns that Sam faked his death to protect her from his deranged sister and that he is now living in Chicago. Jean soon travels to Chicago to find her husband, but when she arrives she discovers that he's in deep with thugs and drug dealers.
