Plot: Darcy, a graphic designer at a greeting card company, has always dreamed of having what she considers the perfect Christmas, which she imagines is just like the model of the Irish village she saw in the Christmas store window when she was young, just like what she figures her Irish mother had as a Christmas environment when she was a child, and that model which she now recreates every year in exactly the same position every Christmas in her house. She envisions that perfect Christmas to include Tom, a copywriter at the greeting card company, he who she believes is the only person who truly understands her need for perfection. A perfect Christmas never occurred in her childhood as her now divorced parents, Sylvia and Bill, were always arguing making for an unhappy home life. As such, she also feels she has to control everything for that perfect Christmas to happen, but something has always gone wrong for it not to have happened yet. A constant since her childhood has been her best friend Brandon, who has always been there for her, but who she considers only a platonic friend since they are too different in temperament to be anything more. After she hosts a less than perfect Thanksgiving dinner - Thanksgiving the proverbial start to the Christmas season - for her parents, Brandon and her somewhat gloomy friend and co-worker Carmen, Darcy stumbles across that same Christmas store which she no longer thought existed, with the proprietor, Elsie, giving her as a gift a figurine that looks exactly like her, which Darcy places into the Irish village model she has at home. The next morning, Darcy awakens to find herself in the middle of her Christmas village, where every day is her perfect Christmas, with those around her Irish versions of what she considers their perfect selves: her parents who are happy and together; Carmen, the town mayor, who everyone loves; and Tom, who has never showed any romantic interest in Darcy in real life yet, as her boyfriend, who caters to her every need for Christmas perfection. The one person missing is Brandon, that is until, in real life, he too stumbles into the same shop to buy a peace offering to make amends for his role in not making Thanksgiving what Darcy wanted, coming out of the shop with a figurine that looks exactly like him, and he placing that figurine in the Irish village display in Darcy's house, he, as himself, magically whisked into Darcy's new Irish village Christmas everyday life. Within this scenario, Darcy may get a new view of her real life versus what she considered her perfect Christmas every day.
Alternative Plot: A woman magically wakes up in her perfect Christmas village in Ireland.
