Plot: After a decade, a group of juvenile friends in a seemingly sleepy Carolina small town are reunited when Tory Bodeen, whose abusive father had moved out abruptly, returns and buys a house from a friend's family. She greatly enjoys again the welcoming company of cheerful Wade Mooney, who slowly looses his patience with the town slut, and her transfer host and soon lover, Cade Lavelle, whose domineering mother bitterly opposes the relationship. But Tory still has the cursed gift to sense evil and get partial visions, like the bloody murder of her best childhood friend Hope, Cade's sister, and now starts tying clues together after finding links with more violent crimes. She fears her father and more people may be involved, even mayor Dwight Collier, long the cocky bunch's shy punching-ball as a knave.
